Neurogenesis is the process by which new neurons are formed in the brain. An increase in neurogenesis is responsible for enhanced learning and improvements in long-term memory. Another way it helps keep you lean is by increasing the production of growth hormone which is from a direct result of the heat stress response. Detox to lose fat pockets that are hard to rid of with exercise. Those pockets often are composed of toxins that disrupt the endocrine system, altering the process of fat production resulting in weight gain. So in realty it might actually be your own body sabotaging your weight loss efforts.

CLEANSES & IMPROVES SKIN: The skin benefits from using the sauna include ehanced collagen production and deep cleansing resulting in an overall appearance of rejuvenation. Heavy sweating greatly increases circulation which draws more oxygen and nutrients to the skin's surface and also stimulates the sebaceous glands, leaving the skin healthy & moisturized. Collagen is a protein that comprises around 80% of the skin's makeup and provides strength and elasticity. Regular sauna use can enhance collagen reproduction which in turn forces the excretion of dead skin cells and promotes the growth of new ones.

These are just a few of the benefits you will see and feel with regular sauna use. Next week we part two will explore three more benefits in depth.
